The image is a collection of three red question marks in a playful, cartoonish style, with one bigger question mark positioned in the middle of the others. The background is plain white. What is the pledge and what does your MP need to do?

  • The pledge is a commitment to disability and neurodivergent inclusion
  • After hearing about the pledge and its importance from constituents’, MPs can take the pledge by emailing info@politicsforall.org to let us know (using their MP email address)
  • We will then send a document with inclusive practices we expect them to adhere to. These practices cover online content like social media posts and MPs’ websites, constituent meetings and events where an MP is invited to speak at like a hustings. We also encourage MPs to meet with a member of our team virtually for a workshop, providing more information about what the pledge entails, discussing the importance of disability and neurodivergent inclusion in politics, explaining the language they should use when discussing disabilities and answering any questions they may have

Why is this important to you?

  • If you identify as disabled or neurodivergent, why not share your own experiences
  • You could talk about the impact of political inclusion, or a lack of it, on our democracy
  • You could talk about the wider importance of equity and social justice
  • You could talk about the law (Equality Act 2010 for England, Scotland and Wales and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 for Northern Ireland) – for example that it is illegal to discriminate against disabled people and it’s also against the law to fail to provide reasonable adjustments to disabled people like resources in easy read format
