non-profits and activism
About Us
Politics for All is a grassroots non-partisan disabled people’s organisation (DPO) that focuses on accessibility and inclusivity in UK democracy.
mission statement
We are on a mission to make politics and activism accessible and inclusive for all
From registering to vote to engaging in activism to standing as an MP, many communities face extra barriers to participating in politics and essentially having a voice and being heard in our society. Politics for All is a grassroots ‘hub’ for all things accessibility and inclusivity within the political system and activism sector. We create campaigns, support like-minded organisations and campaigns and offer an inclusive and supportive space for all aspiring changemakers and politicians.
values
What we are about
Our values help us to deliver change for communities so they are confidently able to vote and feel empowered to access opportunities and careers within politics and activism.
Collaboration
There are so many organisations out there that work on some of our ‘sub-campaigns’ in which case the goal is to partner with them and effectively work for them as they are the experts. On other areas it’s going to be more about leading a campaign and getting as many organisations involved to get it big and successful.
Equity
As an organisation working to drive accessibility and inclusivity, equity is at the heart of what we do. We don’t want ‘equality’. We want equity.
Collectivism
We are in this together, and unite in our struggles and connected lived experiences to drive change and support oneanother.
Diversity
As an organisation passionate about increasing representation in senior levels of politics and activism, we believe it goes without saying that we represent people from all backgrounds, walks of life, identities and lived experiences.
Intersectionality
The majority of individuals we work with will identify as a part of two or more marginalised and/or minority communities. Therefore, it is vital we take an intersectional approach, particularly on our work in equity, diversity and inclusion.
Accessibility and inclusion
For us, accessibility and inclusion is the foundation of the work we do and strive to do. Without it, there is no community to work with and learn from. Today, accessibility encompasses a rich range of practices – all we seek to do. Accessibility is the act of actually making sure someone can be a part of something but inclusion goes further to make sure people actually want to and do take part – like someone who doesn’t face any barriers to participating might feel.
what we do
We are campaigning for change
Migrants, homeless people, minority ethnic communities, disabled and neurodivergent people, young people, working class people, LGBTQIA+ people and women and girls are currently facing extra barriers to participating in our democracy.
Currently, we are launching our Disability Inclusion in Politics campaign.
Our People
Meet the team
Ella Kearley
Campaigns Manager
I founded this organisation because I'm an autistic person passionate about politics and activism but I find it difficult to be seen and heard in the space.
Eden Byrne
Disability Ambassador
Eden is 21 years old and from Northern Ireland. She is a passionate youth social activist who works with lots of different charities to have a voice and make a difference. Eden mostly campaigns around disability and physical / mental health conditions and education. "I wanted to get involved with Politics for All as I wanted to make sure that young people have their say when it comes to politics and I wanted to meet other young people who are passionate about politics."
Troy Njenje Mbanga
Outreach Officer
Troy is a youth activist advocating for young people with SEND, youth voice and inclusion. He enjoys this as he believes that young people's voices matter and we should be able to make decisions, not just MPs. "We have the lived experiences in education and climate change and inclusion and in so many areas like the cost of living crisis and preparing for adulthood. We have a right to tell decision makers what needs to change and to be a part of it."
